From what I’ve read, Conversational Hypnosis helps improve the above. So my question is: How drastically has this changed your life, and in what ways has it changed your life? I’m intrigued by what I’ve read of this product, and I think I want to buy it, but the manual and CDs are really quite expensive, so I was wondering if it was worth the price?

Also, this is from one of the reviews for this product:

"I was able to look over the pages [of a textbook] and know exactly what was being written about… that I was reading the pages at a rate of 5 seconds per page (and improving)! I have realized that a genuine knowledge of hypnosis allows the brain to automatically shift gears into higher states of learning."

Has the above quote been true for you? I have horrible memory and can never understand or retain what I read (which I hate, because I’m genuinely interested in learning what I read). I want to change this, so does Conversational Hypnosis actually "allow the brain to automatically shift gears into higher states of learning" or is that just a bunch of hogwash?

Hypnosis can be effective for many things, true.However also there is a lot of expensive products out there designed to feed on your perceived lack. Some are good, some not. Where you say shifting auto gears into higher states of learning is to me misleading because you already have those higher states, its your mind. There is a free self hypnosis course at hypnosis downloads.com and is very good and includes free audios. You could start there to see how you can change a lot without spending a lot.

i want to get the book but the cover is a little to lesbian

The simplest way to achieve conversational hypnosis is through storytelling. When a story is told, if the listener’s attention is kept, the person begins to relive the experience as if it was their own. So, if you wanted to help someone with depression, make them a little happier, you should tell them a story with a strong feeling of happiness.

Another thing that helps is to gradually switch to second person while talking, for example instead of saying "I went to the beach and had a great time and then I got an ice cream cone and was happy", you might want to say something more like "You know that feeling you get when you are so completely relaxed, like you’re lying on a beach, and the you get up and get an ice cream cone and just feel so happy and relaxed right now". See what happened there, without being obvious you suggested that they felt relaxed and happy.

I hope this post helped, and if you can afford it I would strongly recommend getting Igor Ledochowski’s 12 CD set, "Power of Conversational Hypnosis", it truly is a fantastic resource.

To me it sounds kind of scary to be able to control anything you want.

I mean if you tell your boss you want a promotion, and the boss thinks it was his idea to give you one in the first place, wouldn’t it be scary to know that his personality is being controlled?

How about making friends? You can get people to like you using conversational hypnosis, but are they controlled or do they really like you? Are they aware that they like you?

What if you did things that the person would normally think is uncool and not want to be your friend?

All these questions makes me skeptical and wonderous about the power of conversational hypnosis.

Persuasion in this form must seem really powerful, I mean you could make a video with hypnosis in it and send it to a large company to get them to partner up with you, would be amazing.

What scares me the most about this "conversational hypnosis" thing is the ability to manipulate people.

I certainly do not want to do this to my family and ruin their souls in any way. (:

If you are talking about Igor Ledochowski and Clifford Mee’s package, then I can tell you it is quite good. It will cover many of the basics of NLP/Conversational Hypnosis. It is a lot cheaper than attending many NLP training courses, but isn’t a substitute for a good trainer or hand-on course. What the audio lessons will do is give you an opportunity to evaluate this kind of hypnosis and see if you are willing to invest the time and money into learning it.

Bought the book Conversational Hypnosis and have gone through part of it.

Looks like a rather useful book. Many good techniques I never thought about.

I bought it as I have a very difficult child that I need to understand. I think it has helped me to be more persuasive to my boy. He is more willing to listen after I apply some of the things I read about.

Judging by the sheer number of sites claiming to sell books and CD’s on the subject I would say there are a lot of people out there trying to control others.

Those techniques don’t work.

You can’t do "covert conversational hypnosis," and if you tried, you’d probably just come across as creepy.

The books and CD’s you refer to are aimed at the gullible, and yes, people who probably have control fantasies. You can certainly try to influence others, but the techniques that work are not "secret" at all (although not as well known as you would think). For instance, be nice to people, make eye contact, keep yourself clean and well groomed, smile, be agreeable, and so on.
